Hurricane Katrina gave people some hard choices on what to do in the advent of the greatest natural disaster this country has ever seen. Often they had to choose which articles and mementos to take and what to leave behind, and what to do with beloved pets. Those that were prepared and had a plan fared much better than those who didn't.
