MDF Goes Beyond
Companies create a lot of collateral for distribution to their customers, their sales people, their investors, and their own employees. Most of the time this collateral is printed in bulk and, depending on the purpose of the material, it could be sent out all at once, or it is stored in a warehouse waiting for someone to request it.
One of our long time clients had a variety of sales and marketing documents, but due to the recent economic climate, they have reduced their printing, so many of these were out of stock. In addition, many of these documents were subject to change, so there was a significant problem with obsolescence.
MDF worked with their Marketing Department to convert their documents to a PDF format so they could be produced as needed and would be available on-line for either viewing and/or download, or printed on our digital equipment. In addition, we are providing the ability for the general public to access the document and either download them or request a printed version. We also migrated their distributors and sales force from a paper-based method of ordering to our web-based ordering system.
Since instituting the new program, the client has seen substantial savings in warehouse storage fees and in minimized waste, since the digital inventory can be updated at any time without having to discard obsolete printed material.
