Fires, floods and computer systems failure or attack pose serious threat to MDF’s Client material, client operational activities and our infrastructure. Natural disaster threatens not only the contents of the physical building, but employees of MDF . We have taken steps to protect our contents from the destructive elements of fire and flooding and computer systems failure or attack.

The plan covers disaster preparedness, response procedures, salvage priorities, information systems safe-guards and contingencies and services needed for disaster recovery. The plan is also designed to outline the preventative safe-guards put into place so that clients doing business with MDF have the highest confidence that their materials and business operations and data are safe with MDF Systems, Inc.

- Virus/Hacker Attack Safeguards
We have virus protection at three levels: Routers, Firewalls, and Servers. MDF has a Secured Site Certificate and SSL (128 bit encryption), to support credit card transactions and therefore the highest standards and best practices for security need to be maintained and enforced. There are 2 instances of anti-virus software running on each server and each workstation. Should a virus disable one version of the software, the second backup version will remain functional.

- Redundancy
MDF has two Routers and two firewalls for redundancy should the primary Firewall Fail. (Watchguard Firebox 1000 (Cisco counterpart)). In addition we have a full redundant server environment.

- Hardware/Software Replacement
We internally support and maintain our hardware. Should our facility become unusable, redundant servers stored at an off site location will be activated.
MDF has 2 primary RAID servers that house the system. Both are Windows 2000 servers, our web server houses the web application and the SQL server (MS SQL Server 2000) houses the data. In addition we have a full back up server that can be invoked should a server fail to be used for either data or replacement parts. In addition we have a full redundant environment that houses our legacy systems.

- Data Recovery
Full tape backups are performed nightly and tapes are stored off site at a secured, fireproof location. Data is pooled between the two sets of servers (back-up and primary) should a failure occur during business hours. The SQL sever backs-up data files hourly in the event the data flow is interrupted, information (orders) lost would be minimal).

The plan is monitored and reviewed quarterly, and appended as needed.
